Hi Louise and Phil - Happy New Year! Your trip is amazing. It's been so much fun to follow your travels, particularly seeing your snowman while Brisbane was at 36 degrees!
Louise - I would like to invite you to come on a ‘Ladies Retreat’ in the Mooloolah Valley (near Maleny) prior to swearing my life to Douglas.
Kate and Rosemary have suggested Frangipani House for the weekend of 7th February: http://www.mooloolahvalley.com/frangipani.php The website is very folksy, unfortunately. The house and facilities, though, look fabulous – pool, spa, bikes, horses, and giant chess. Kate has stayed before, so can vouch for it.
It will be a chance for we girls to kick back and relax in the countryside.
The house sleeps 8 “in extravagance” as the website says, and I am inviting 6 only so we have lots of space. The cost is $115-175 each total for both nights (variation dependent on how many of us go), making it a pretty cost effective weekend in the country.
If you can negotiate a leave pass from Phil for the weekend, please give it a thought.
